Residing in the artistically vibrant Edmonton, Alberta, Ryan Thompson, aka Arson, has been a prominent figure in the music scene for over a decade. His journey began with a deep passion for music. Years of practice & dedication to the craft and the community are the foundation to Arson’s impeccable mixing, unmatched crowd control, and high energy sets.
Influenced by the rhythmic roots of hip hop, rap, and reggae, Arson showcases his skills in dynamic sets with a focus on jungle, drum & bass, dubstep, grime, and footwork. Sharing the stage with notable artists such as Andy C, Breakage, Chimpo, Sam Binga, Fixate, Sinistarr, & Spectrasoul, Arson focuses on crowd energy and carefully curated sets to match the vibe of any event and any genre.
As a co-founder of Umbral Sound System, a pioneering electronic events company, Ryan has not only perfected his skills behind the decks but has actively contributed to the creation of a custom sound system, shaping the local music scene and helping to focus on inclusivity and amazing sound within the community.
While Arson is a seasoned DJ, he has also begun his journey into music production and has been featured on the Future Vibes Alberta compilation with more releases to come. Arson's production journey promises groundbreaking releases that seamlessly blend innovation with his signature sound.
