WE’RE DEFROSTING

APRIL 2026

For the past decade, The Downtown Defrost has been Edmonton’s best excuse to get outside and dance. Set at Sir Winston Churchill Square, the festival flips the season’s fresh energy on its head, turning the square into a vibrant, open-air dance party packed with visuals, art, and world-class electronic music. Created by The Factory Music & Arts LTD and Night Vision Music, it’s a family-friendly celebration of springtime, community, and the beats that bring us back to life.

Downtown Defrost takes place on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional land of the Nêhiyaw (Cree), Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux peoples. We acknowledge and respect the deep history of these lands and the Indigenous communities who have cared for them for generations.

As we come together to experience music, art, and community at Churchill Square in Edmonton, we recognize the ongoing presence, contributions, and resilience of Indigenous peoples. We are committed to fostering a space of inclusion, respect, and reconciliation.

We celebrate creativity and connection on this land, honoring the past, present, and future of the Indigenous communities who continue to shape it.
